A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

Caring for animals has been a passion of mine. Since I was young I’ve always loved animals — both learning about and taking care of them.

Looking to the future, I want to someday offer my dog walking and pet sitting services out of my home. Been always interested in someday fostering, where animals are placed in temporary homes to be socialized and trained in a safe and stress-less environment, until they are adopted. Until then I feel every experience I have with animals and with my business, has gotten me closer to my goal, of seeing all animals happy and healthy, and being well taken care of.

In 2006, as an psychology major at Roger Williams University I choose animal studies for my required internship. I began my pet care experience working at a cat shelter located in West Tisbury, MA.  My tasks there included maintaining the facilities and nourishing over 40 felines, many of them either kittens or feral. Additionally, I learned how to administer oral medications and fluids to several cats that were feral and aging. I continued to help care the cats for several years. While working there and occasionally pet sitting for my managers animals I found that my love for caring for animals had grown!

In May of 2007, I graduated from Roger William’s University with a BA in Psychology. After graduating, I continued to pursue my passion for animal care and training at a Kennel in West Palm Beach FL. I was hired as an assistant dog trainer and kennel caretaker for “Very Important Paws” an 18-month apprenticeship in dog basic obedience and housebreaking training. My responsibilities also included working in the daycare, grooming, and the boarding kennel as well as to maintain its facilities.

Soon after completing my apprenticeship, I moved back to Martha's Vineyard and  in April of 2009. I continued my training while working at a Pet Smart in New Brunswick, GA and thru advanced my training by caring for various fish, birds, small mammals and exotics.

In 2010, I returned to Martha’s Vineyard where I started my pet care business. My services include: dog walking, dog training and pet-sitting, as well as in-home services.

At the same time worked for Island Alpaca from June 2010 to October 2011. There I sold merchandise at the West Tisbury Farmer’s Market. I also worked in their farm store, helped maintained the facilities, and cared for 68 Alpacas and one Llama.

I also participated in a Husbandry seminar for birthing alpacas.

In 2011, I moved to western MA. Where I started out working at Daves Soda and Pet City for a year.

Then for a couple years I worked at Whirlwind Kennel taking care of the boarders and instructed agility classes. After they closed their doors I continued to help care for the owner's personal dogs.

In 2013, I bathed dogs at Amherst Dog Wash and helped them with events in the community.

In August 2018, I started helping with dog training classes at Animal Alliances with owner Caroline Moore, she is a greatly admired positive rewards trainer and I highly recommend her and her trainers for their private and group classes.

By 2020, My dog Tiger and I had lived in North Amherst MA, for almost 9 years. Before moving across the bridge to Northampton MA.

I continue to share my knowledge, experience and love of animals with my clients of the Amherst area. But have been enjoying helping my new community with their pet care needs.

My main focus is the wellbeing of all pets, that I have been entrusted to care for.
